Can you think of a time when you planned what you thought was an amazing lesson only to have it crash and burn when you presented it to your students? It's happened to even the best teachers—and while it's all part of the learning process, it can be really frustrating. 

Last year, as part of the MLK Day of Service (on Jan 16, 2012 this year), we asked teachers everywhere to describe how they integrated MLK's concepts of race, civil rights an... in order to teach their students to give back.  Dozens of teachers answered… and while the contest is now closed, we wanted to highlight some of our favorite ideas for you.  Be inspired… then encourage your students to follow in MLK's footsteps.  In the words of MLK, "United We Serve."
