Need school wide Dr. Seuss activity ideas

I am doing my student teaching in a middle school library and I need to come up with a school wide activity for March 2nd (Dr. Seuss/Read Across America) day.  I first came up with having the students answer questions regarding Dr. Seuss books and then give out prizes but the school already has that planned for part of the day.

I have no problem coming up with elementary school activities but the middle school has me challenged.  Most of the Dr. Seuss books seem to be geared to the elementary level.

Any suggestions?  I need to make it a school wide activity that all of the classrooms can participate in and have it tie in with the library, as well.

Any suggestions or simply pointing me to a helpful resource would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks so much!

Re: Need school wide Dr. Seuss activity ideas

How about having students write poems in the style of Dr. Seuss? Lots of alliteration, lots of great imagery, they can put their skills to the test!
