The best advice given to me by 2 veteran teachers my first year was...don't grade everything, you are allowed to throw some homework away. Saved me hours of grading and I could still assess and see if the students were "getting" it.
I remembered another poignant piece of advice after speaking to a non-tenured teacher this morning. One of my professors in "teacher" school told us as a class, never decide on your teaching career after the first year. The first year is brutal whether you are experienced or not, but you have to give it a few years and get into your GROOVE. Good luck to all the teachers and thank you for your service!
